Bluepool Corner
Bluepool Corner
Bluepool Corner
is a sandy cove that is only accessible on foot and when the tide is out. The Blue Pool itself is a circular rock pool measuring approximately 15 feet across. It is also roughly the same depth. At the far end of the beach is an archway known as the Three Chimneys. In 1800, a fisherman, John Richard, found a quantity of gold moidores and doubloons among the rocks here. Other searchers have found coins as have divers on the sea bed. Just South West of the Three Chimneys is Culver Hole in which the remains of 30 bodies have been excavated, dating to the Middle Bronze Age, c. 1,450-1,000 BC.
Please take care if you are visiting Blue Pool as it is not recommended for youngsters due to the cliff path
