Langland Bay

Langland Bay
Langland Bay Langland Bay is a designated conservation area with 75 Edwardian beach chalets overlooking the sandy beach. The beach is very popular for bathing and surfing. Café facilities and pay-as-you-use tennis courts are available on the foreshore, and toilets and parking is nearby. Lifeguards are on duty here during the summer months and dogs are not allowed on the beach. Langland Bay faces SW and can hold some big hollow waves on the sandbanks in a decent swell. Rips can be strong here, especially in big swells. Not really a suitable beach for windsurfing. Several waves break in Langland bay, with lefthanders at Rotherslade, a middle reef and the outside point being good at low to mid tide. When the surf is big, Crab Island at the SE of the bay is one of the best right-handers around, but only works at low tide. Langland bay is a popular beach for the locals and will get rather busy on a hot day.
